The Devils Rejects

When we last left the Firefly family they were merrily torturing and killing anyone and everyone, but after they are ambushed in their home by Sheriff Wydell the tables are turned. What ensues is a bloody, messy depraved trip that leads to the ultimate showdown of good guys versus bad guys, only the lines have been blurred and who is good and who is bad now?
Director Rob Zombie has a way of really drawing you into the characters, while the Fireflys are the hunted in this movie you tend to forget all the nasty horrible things they did in 1000 Corpses as you root for them to get away from the psycho Sheriff who takes revenge for the killing of his brother into his own hands.
House of 1000 Corpses is shot all dark and spooky, and the Devils Rejects is all dusty and more realistic. Its like riding the ghost train and a drive down a deserted dusty road in comparison. But both work in there different ways, I found there was more humour in Devils Rejects but also more depravity.
After watching these two movies a couple of times I couldn't help but notice the references to Charles Manson and the family. In House of 1000 Corpses when we first meet the young couples Jerry is reading a newspaper article on the Manson girls and comments on it. Baby then later quotes one of the Manson girls ("If someone needs to be killed you kill em..."). In Devils Rejects Otis quotes maybe the most infamous Manson related quote "I am the devil and I am here to do the devils work." And most recently in Halloween the reporter makes reference to "Manson-like" killings at the Myers house.
Maybe all this means we can expect Rob Zombie to make a Charles Manson movie in the future....I can only hope.
