Scorpion King 2 Rise of A Warrior

Yes, that's right, a sequel. Surprise!!
Although, it did go straight to video, so many people were unaware of it's release. A shame, it wasn't all that poorly made, and well, it could've made some money in theatre. Wouldn't have been a box office smash but likely wouldv'e done ok.
I think that this one is meant to be a prequal to the original starring Duane Johnson (AKA the Rock). However, the movie doesn't really go into it too much, so it's hard to be sure.
We follow the story of Mathayus, son of Ashur, who is a great warriorof the Black Scorpions. Evil general Sargon hates Ashur because of his formidable reputation and kills him with magic. Mathayus longs to follow in his fathers footsteps, and is sent by King Hammarod to train with the Scorpions. When he returns as a young man, evil Sargon has taken over and tries to force Mathayus into his service, but knowing that Sargon was responsible for his fathers death, Mathayus escapes and travels to abroad to seek magic of his own to defeat Sargon. He is joined by longtime female friend Layla, and joined with quick witter Ari the Greek on the voyage. They end up battling the Minautar to gain entry into the underworld where they meet the goddess of war and love, Lady Astarte. They steal her unbreakeable sword that can cut through anything, return to the land of the living, steal into the palace where Mathayus can finally battle Sargon.
It's not a badly done film... especially if you like mythical warriors and monsters, magic and adventure. The only thing is that it doesn't really fit in anywhere with the original movie. Maybe they should've just forgone the Scorpion King bit of the title. That's my opinion anyway. I didn't mind it, have watched it a few times already, and hope that if you liked the first, and others like this ( The Mummy, Mummy II...) that you'll like it as well.
Happy Watching
