Shoot Em Up

Shoot Em Up....well the title says it all really. This movie was a non-stop action packed shooting spree in almost any conceivable situation. It was fun, funny and so unbelievably corny it was good.
All the mayhem starts when the main character "Mr Smith" is innocently sitting at a bus stop eating a carrot - more about the carrot later - when a pregnant women scurries past quickly followed by an armed assailant trying to put her down for the big sleep. But the killers plans are foiled when Mr Smith decides he wont stand for this and gets himself in on the action. Basically from here on in Mr Smith doesn't stop shooting...its great.
After the shoot out Smith delivers the woman's baby, shooting all the while and obviously being unable to find a pair of scissors does the next best thing and shoots the umbilical cord. The women is killed soon after in another gun battle and Smith being the good guy he is takes the baby with him on a crazy gun toting adventure.
Smith's first stop with the baby is to see a lactating hooker, hoping to get the bub a feed (I know, I am serious) but the hooker's not in. After a visit from the bad guys though she soon changes her mind and the trio spend the rest of the flick avoiding and killing the bad guys until the mystery of why the bad guys want the baby is solved.
One of my favourite scenes in this movie is the love/sex scene. Its starts out all innocently enough but what do you know in come the bad guys mid-coatis, out come the guns but love the never stops its great.
Ok so I mentioned carrots before, well this Smith guy loves them. He eats them, kills with them, uses them as tools and he grows his own. In the first shoot out before Smith picks up a gun he rams a carrot through someone's head.
To be honest I thought this movie was going to be really cheesy and not in a good way but a sad why-did-someone-pay to- make- this garbage kind of way. But I was wrong, I loved the way this movie all came together. Its clever, funny and some of the situations they put the baby in are cringe worthy.
